About Marily

I want to show that cooking doesn’t have to be difficult or complicated—you can cook almost anything at home. You don’t need to follow a recipe to the letter, and you can still make food that tastes great and is good for you. I learned cooking through trial and error, and now I want to share that with others. My goal is to make the kitchen feel approachable, fun, and empowering, so you can gain confidence and enjoy cooking for yourself.

About the lesson

During the session, I’ll cook meals for you while you watch and learn. You might help a little—chopping, stirring, or tasting—but mostly you can observe and pick up skills to use in your own kitchen later.
Menus are flexible. We can adjust the courses to suit your preference—for example, two mains instead of a dessert, or skip a course if you prefer. I can also cook enough to provide extra portions for another meal, and depending on your family size, some dishes can even be frozen for later.
Sample Menu
Starters (choose one):
Coleslaw – crisp and fresh with a tangy dressing; demonstrates balancing acid, sweetness, and texture.
Tomato Bruschetta – toasted baguette with garlic, ripe tomatoes, olive oil, and basil; shows layering flavors in a classic Italian way.
Mains (choose one):
Peanut Butter Chicken with Rice – learn how to layer flavors and make a quick, tasty sauce.
Spaghetti Bolognese – a rich, flavorful meat sauce with spaghetti; learn how to build depth of flavor in a simple, home-friendly way.
Desserts (choose one):
Tiramisu – quick, simple, and perfect for impressing guests.
Lemon Posset – a creamy, zesty dessert made with just cream and lemon.

Details

The first “lesson” is free and takes place over the phone. This is a chance for us to get to know each other, talk about your comfort level in the kitchen, dietary preferences, and what you’d like to get from a session. It’s not a cooking lesson—just a planning and introduction call.
Cooking takes place in your kitchen. Minimum booking is 2 hours.
I can provide a full shopping/ingredient list for you to get yourself.
Alternatively, I can do the shopping for you and bring the ingredients to the session. Shopping can be tailored to your preferences and budget.
