About Arhan
Hi, I'm Arhan. I recently graduated top of my Mechanical Engineering cohort at Imperial College London with a First Class MEng and an overall average of 87%, ranking 1st in Years 1, 2 and 4 and 2nd in Year 3. During my degree, I received several awards for academic excellence, including subject prizes and an award from the Institution of Mechanical Engineers. I am now beginning a PhD in Mechanical Engineering at Imperial.
My academic and research experience covers Thermodynamics, Fluid Mechanics, Heat Transfer, Dynamics, Stress Analysis, Engineering Mathematics, CFD and numerical methods, alongside tools such as ANSYS Fluent, Abaqus, MATLAB/Simulink and Python.
I have been involved in STEM tutoring since 2020. I particularly enjoy making mathematically and/or physically complex concepts intuitive, helping students understand what the equations actually describe before building the confidence and problem-solving skills to tackle unfamiliar questions independently.

I offer one-to-one online tuition for undergraduate Mechanical Engineering students and those on closely related Engineering courses. I can help with: Thermodynamics, Fluid Mechanics, Heat Transfer, Stress Analysis and Statics, Dynamics and Vibrations, Continuum Mechanics, Basic Electronics and Engineering Mathematics.
Sessions can focus on learning topics from first principles, working through derivations and problem sheets, exam revision, or specific concepts and questions you are struggling with. As university courses vary, I ask students to send relevant lecture notes or problem sheets at least 48 hours before the lesson. This allows me to confirm I can help and prepare around notation familiar to the student.
My approach is to build an intuitive understanding of the underlying concepts before moving into problem solving, so you understand not just how to use a method, but why/ when it works. Lessons are normally 60 minutes and tailored to the student. Group sessions available.

Details
Small-group tuition is available for classmates studying the same module and covering broadly the same material:
2 students: £65 each per hour
3 students: £50 each per hour
4 to 5 students: £40 each per hour
Discounted 5-hour and 10-hour packages are also available for groups. Please message me for group package pricing.
For all university-level lessons, please send me the relevant topic and course material at least 48 hours in advance. I will review it beforehand and confirm that it is within an area I can confidently help with.
