About Mei
I was born and raised in Sichuan Province, China. Then I came to study in Beijing and have been living here for 17 years. I used to teach kids and adults English, but the older I get, the prouder I feel about my own culture. Right now I’m tutoring my 7-year-old son to read and write in Chinese, which gave me more confidence to deliver classes to people from all over the world who are eager to learn about Chinese culture. I am patient and constantly reflecting on my method of teaching. I believe the ultimate purpose of learning a language is to put it into use. Besides knowing what we are learning, it’s also important to know why we should learn it and how to use it. And of course, we need to find the best way for you to improve because everyone learns in a different way. In my class, you will have lots of opportunities to practice and please know that making mistakes is OK. What matters the most is your willingness to express yourself.
