About Sarah

Hi! My name is Sarah and I am a student myself. After experiencing the leaving cert system, I believe I will be able to help you with universal issues regarding grammar and tenses, as well as troubles that you may find when it comes to comprehension or essay writing. Although my French may not be that of a native speaker, I have a basis that will highly benefit you, and I hope to make you feel more confident in your abilities. Due to my experiences abroad, yet not being a native speaker, I relate to every single issue a student may be experiencing, and I believe this stands to my ability to understand what may be challenging. My lessons would be based purely on your needs and what you're covering in school, and I promise to not overload you with work during such a stressful time :)

About the lesson

I am passionate about relieving some of the stress that is associated with both the junior cert French course. The basics are imperative to understanding, sentence structure and communication. Whether you are the parent of a child who is having trouble with the language as a whole, or purely aiming to improve certain aspects of their abilities, I aim to focus on the most essential and tricky parts of the course, to streamline what they may be covering in class. I have experience living in Belgium during the first 3 years of secondary school which massively aids my ability with written, auditory and spoken French, and I obtained a H1 grade at leaving cert. Choosing to further my studies of the language at higher education, ideally 1-2 hour sessions per week would be given at a chosen location in the city, preferrable after their school hours or at weekends. Lessons can be changed week to week, depending on your schedule
The first 10/15 minutes would be spent going over the topic that is covered in class, and the remainder would be focused on materials I will provide. Starting with basic verbs and their conjugations, we will work our way up to tackling slightly more complicated material. I hope to preempt some of the class material, making it easier for the student to digest when it is taught, and ultimately aiding the student in their exams. At the heart of the lesson, I will make the student feel comfortable and go at their own pace. No question is not worth asking.
