About Daniel
I have recently completed a Combined Honours BA degree programme in English Literature and Philosophy at Newcastle University where I achieved first class honours. Currently, I am undertaking an MA degree at the university in International Politics with the overall aim of becoming a lecturer. I currently teach the subjects of English literature and philosophy, however, for students under 14, I am able to teach a wide spectrum of subjects within the humanities discipline.
I have taught a wide range of students with different abilities as my mam is a teaching assistant and within her department I would be regularly referred to for students who wanted specialized help in improving their skills within humanities.

My teaching methodology is aimed at improving two critical areas that are required at degree, A-level and GCSE ability.
1) Essay writing: this is most applicable to those students doing their A-levels and degree. With my help, I will systematically teach and provide the student with a coherent plan of action that would ensure their essay writing ability improves drastically. This will be achieved by identifying key areas of weakness in their essay writing ability and providing a structured approach that would ensure those weaknesses become strengths.
2) Critical thinking: this area spans over the former three qualifications. I will assist in this area by combining the skills and knowledge that I have gained from being an avid student of philosophy and English literature to present an understandable learning curriculum that would ensure students quickly learn fundamental critical thinking skills that they could apply in their essays.
I am as enthusiastic about learning as I am teaching and, with a friendly, approachable personality, I will ensure the student learns in a fun and efficient manner :)
