IsiZulu is my home language and I've been teaching it for the past 3 years.

Deadly! Nomfundo has been assisting our daughter with Grade 8 Zulu for 6 months. Nomfundo has been a wonderful tutor. She has been consistent, patient and understanding. Deadly! Nomfundo is an excellent tutor. Having lived in South Africa for many years, I was always frustrated by my inability to speak or understand the local languages. While I had picked up common words over the years, I wanted to learn one language comprehensively and chose IsiZulu.
Naturally, I was anxious about engaging a tutor, but it is truly the best decision I could have made. From our very first lesson, Nomfundo made me feel completely comfortable. She is incredibly supportive, and her gentle, encouraging approach means I never feel awkward making mistakes. In fact, I have learned more vocabulary and full sentences in a short space of time than I ever thought possible. This has given me the confidence to start using certain phrases in my day-to-day interactions.

She perfectly balances a friendly personality with absolute professionalism. She is also highly accommodating when life gets busy and classes need to be rescheduled (with prior notice, of course!).

I know she tutors all fluency levels, including school children looking to improve their grades. If you are looking for a down-to-earth, professional, and welcoming tutor, I highly recommend giving Nomfundo a try.

Deadly! Ms Nomfundo has been tutoring my son, Puno, for over six months. He is in Grade 9 and takes isiZulu as his First Additional Language.

She started by helping Puno with the basics, such as reading, and gradually moved on to writing, comprehension, poetry, and other areas. She follows his school’s curriculum and reviews his classwork to ensure he understands it.

Ms Nomfundo is patient and allows Puno to learn at his own pace, explaining concepts until he is confident. She is also very accommodating, offering extra sessions during exam periods.

Thanks to her support, Puno’s marks improved from around 30% in Term 1 to over 50% in Term 3 — his best result yet. I highly recommend Ms Nomfundo to any parent looking for a dedicated and effective tutor.
