About Gabi

I am an Italian native speaker and I moved to the UK in 2009. Since then, I have completed a PhD, worked as researcher and lecturer and I currently work for the University in a research management capacity. I have started teaching Italian from my very first year in the UK and never stopped because I love my language and culture and I am motivated to support people learning it for the most diverse reasons! I enjoy the relationship and the conversation that usually develops with my tutees and I see it as mutually enriching.

About the lesson

I have taught complete beginners and more experienced pupils, engaging with the basics, essential grammar, conversation, lexicon, reading and comprehension, life situations, Italian culture, and enhancing advanced level proficiency. I customise my approach on the basis of the tutees' needs and desires, including their own personal interests. My sessions are informal, based on two-way engagement and dialogue, and often include a range of activities, listening, games and topics.
