About Erikka
I am new to formal teaching but during my 8 months in Italy I picked up the language quickly and because of this I was able to help others in the same program as me to learn the language faster and more efficiently. I worked with someone new to Italy every day for 3 months and their language skills improved dramatically and they were able to have beginning conversations with Italians by about 1 1/2- 2 months into their time spent abroad.

I just returned from living in Italy and although I took Italian classes in the US for 2 years, I didn't really learn the language until I spent 8 months living in northern Italy! I have tested as 80% fluent and have tested into the Italian literature levels of learning this language.
I use a more inquiry-based learning style. I love to hear from you what you are struggling with or wanting to improve and we can work on that!
I am very good at helping with vocabulary, reading comprehension and conversation. I am especially good at helping beginners to conversation feel comfortable speaking and expanding vocabulary.
I take a more student-centered approach to teaching (incorporating any request or concerns on the student into lessons) and I can't wait to work with you!
