About Alexander

I am a retired lawyer and Columbia University graduate. I also scored an 800 on the verbal portion of the SATs. Columbia's core curriculum has provided me with a firm grounding in the classics and as a lawyer words were my business.

About the lesson

My teaching approach involves a discussion of the assigned text using the Socratic method. Students benefit from a careful analysis of the interplay of word choice and theme in order to develop better reading comprehension and critical thinking skills when approaching a text.
