Hi, I'm an Ivy League law school graduate, former primary school teacher in China, and lifelong learner with a passion for helping others grow. With years of experience working with learners of all ages as a camp counselor, classroom teacher, and tutor. I bring patience, adaptability, and a sense of humor to every session. As a tutor, I focus on making learning approachable, practical, and fun. I tailor each lesson to the individual’s needs—whether it’s grammar, writing, or conversation using real-life topics, interactive exercises, and encouragement. With a background as an Ivy League law grad, former teacher in China, and camp counselor, I connect easily with learners of all ages and backgrounds. My goal is to build confidence and curiosity, and to help others develop lasting communication skills they can use in any setting. A typical lesson begins with a quick check-in and warm-up activity, followed by focused instruction and hands-on practice. We then review key takeaways and set small, achievable goals for next time. Each session is personalized based on the learner’s level, interests, and objectives, whether it's improving fluency, mastering grammar, preparing for an exam, or building writing skills. I incorporate real-world materials such as articles, dialogues, and prompts to make lessons engaging and relevant. Depending on the learner’s preference, we might role-play conversations, edit writing together, or break down complex ideas into manageable parts. I also give constructive feedback in a supportive, encouraging way to help learners feel confident and motivated. Flexibility and responsiveness are key and I adapt the structure as needed to match learning styles and pace, while ensuring steady progress with every lesson.
