About Maiko

Hey there! My name is Maiko. I'm half-Japanese and grew up with a mother who knows pretty much no English. I often exchanged schools between Japan and New Zealand in my primary and high school years. I also went to a Saturday school in Chch every weekend for 12 years. I'm super friendly and talkative and I'm also here to learn about you and what you want to improve.

About the lesson

I'm happy to help with nearly any aspect of Japanese. I can directly translate nearly everything. I'm happy to just chat in Japanese. I make worksheets and set personal goals for each individual. I also make personalized lessons depending on how the individual likes to learn as well. I have many resources including N3-N1 books, Genki books, and online resources. I've helped people study for language proficiency tests such as N5/N4/N3 and high school level Japanese. I can do up to 2-hour lessons. Happy to negotiate.
