About Shinji

Hi! My name is Shinji.
I’m from Japan and currently living in the United States. My parents are originally from China, so I’m ethnically Chinese. Because of my background, I speak Mandarin and have a strong understanding of both Japanese and Chinese language and culture.

I’m happy to help you improve your Japanese while sharing interesting cultural insights and differences between Japan and China!

About the lesson

I believe that learning Japanese should feel practical, meaningful, and enjoyable, not overwhelming. My approach focuses on helping students actually use Japanese in real-life situations, while building confidence step by step.

Rather than memorizing rules in isolation, we learn Japanese through context, conversation, and purpose—so you understand why something is used, not just how.
