About Himanshi
I fell in love with Japanese because of how it sounds. There is something about the rhythm of it that drew me in before I even understood a word. And then came the culture, and suddenly the language had a whole world behind it. The way Japanese carries culture within it, the way certain words only exist because of how Japanese people see life and that’s what kept me hooked, through my studies and all the way through my time in Japan.
That curiosity is what brought me to teaching. Japanese is a journey, and a genuinely fascinating one. I find real joy in being a part of that journey for someone else. My goal is simple: that every student leaves the lesson feeling like this is something worth continuing, not something to get through.

My classes follow a structured curriculum, but I’ve never believed that a textbook alone can make someone fluent. So while we cover everything you need — grammar, vocabulary, reading, writing — I bring in real cultural context and lived experiences from my time in Japan to make the lessons breathe a little more. Japanese starts making sense faster when you understand the world behind the words.
Along the way, we mix in films, games, and discussions that reinforce what we’re learning to make it enjoyable and meaningful. The goal is for Japanese to feel like something you’re growing into naturally, not just studying for an exam.
