About Blair
I am a piano teacher with 12 years of experience and a PhD in Piano Performance Studies. During my teaching journey, I have guided students through different musical styles while helping them strengthen technique and musical confidence. Watching learners achieve goals they once considered difficult is extremely rewarding.
My teaching philosophy combines discipline with encouragement. I believe students make the best progress when they understand concepts clearly and feel supported throughout the learning process. Lessons are adapted to suit each learner’s individual needs and aspirations.
Outside teaching, I enjoy collaborative performances, piano research, and exploring educational approaches that improve learning outcomes. These interests enrich my lessons and keep my teaching fresh. I look forward to helping students discover their musical potential and enjoy every stage of development.

My piano lessons are built around helping students develop complete musical understanding alongside strong technical ability. We focus on reading music, rhythm control, finger strength, coordination, articulation, and expressive interpretation through carefully planned activities. Lessons are structured to create steady and meaningful progress.
Students explore scales, chord patterns, sight-reading exercises, listening tasks, and repertoire development. I encourage learners to understand musical concepts deeply rather than simply memorizing notes. This approach helps students become more confident and independent at the keyboard.
I enjoy helping students transform uncertainty into confidence through consistent support and practical learning. Every lesson encourages growth while keeping music enjoyable and engaging. My goal is to help learners develop lasting skills and a strong connection to music.
