I believe learning must not stop at grammar rules. Just like I learned English by watching movies and reading books, I love blended teaching, and I think the best way to learn is through practice and experience.
For young kids games are fantastic too, I don't want the classes to be boring, they should be useful but fun. For young adults instead, I prefer to use pop culture references, tv shows, and movies.
I have been tutoring young adults for the past three years, usually doing 1/2 hours a week, but I also have experience with kids (I have a young brother to whom I am teaching English!).
I studied at a Classical High School in Italy, which is mainly focused on humanistic subjects like Italian literature, History, Philosophy, and so on, so I have also got a profound knowledge of Italian culture and I can suggest, to more experienced and interested adults, literature texts and poems.
