About Mir Ussmum
I am passionate about language learning and helping students achieve their academic and personal goals. My background in linguistics allows me to explain grammar, pronunciation, vocabulary, and communication skills in a clear and effective way.
Outside of teaching, I enjoy hiking and spending time in nature. I also volunteer with newcomer communities, supporting individuals as they adapt to life in Canada and develop their English language skills. These experiences have helped me become a patient, understanding, and culturally responsive educator.
I believe every student learns differently, and I strive to create a supportive and encouraging learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes, and building confidence. My goal is not only to help students improve their English but also to make learning enjoyable and rewarding.

I am a student in the Faculty of Education at Lakehead University with a Bachelor's and Master's degree in Linguistics. I have over 3.5 years of experience teaching English to learners from different educational and cultural backgrounds.
My lessons are tailored to each student's needs, goals, and learning style. Whether you want to improve your speaking, writing, grammar, pronunciation, vocabulary, academic English, or overall communication skills, I create engaging and supportive lessons to help you succeed.
I use student-centered and interactive teaching methods that encourage active participation and build confidence. My lessons combine practical language use with clear explanations, helping students develop both accuracy and fluency.
I work with school students, university students, and adult learners. Together, we will create a learning plan that matches your objectives and helps you achieve measurable progress at a comfortable pace.
