About William

I taught languages for 2 years and a half, and I have taught over 40 students. Many expressed their satisfaction at being able to speak more fluently, others successfully successfully passed their interviews to study abroad, while others significantly improved their academic performance. Some parents renewed their contract with the school where I was teaching for this very reason.

About the lesson

I am English but I grew up in France and languages have always fascinated me. I studied Mandarin Chinese in Beijing first and then in Vancouver where I got a Bachelor's degree in Asian Language and Culture. I then spent 5 years in Shanghai, where I obtained my Master's in Theory and Literature and Art (in Mandarin). I teach beginners and intermediate levels. Whether you want to learn the basics of the language, deepen your knowledge, or if you're just looking to add a little spice to your routine, feel free to contact me! Mandarin Chinese is known to be difficult, and the fact that it is a tonal language without an alphabet may seem daunting at first ... But fear often makes things more difficult than they really are. Although it is very different from French, Chinese is a language, just like any other. It is also another way of interpreting life, which will seem foreign but which, once integrated, can really change your way of seeing the world. My method takes into account the needs and the unique personalities of my students. It is based on a natural and playful approach to learning, the effectiveness of which has been confirmed throughout my career as a teacher. Immersion and assimilation are the two key words of my method, and I try to recreate the same mindset that children have and which makes them so creative and able to learn. My rates vary according to the travel cost: I live in the center of Strasbourg and get around on foot. If you live further than 1,5km away, I would have to take the tram. In that case, my fare would include the cost of a round trip tram ticket.
