About Kirsty
I am a fourth year Law student at the University of Edinburgh and a full time judo athlete with the national team. I have tutored students at a variety of levels, with my most recent students both achieving grade A at Higher English.
I am PVG checked and have experience as an assistant judo coach for 5 years and as a qualified judo coach for 2 years. Through my coaching experience, I have developed several transferrable skills, including the ability to make complex content accessible and interesting.
I also have the advantage of having personal experience of recently sitting the SQA exams (between 2016 and 2018). I have Highers in English, French, Modern Studies, History, Maths and Human Biology, all at grade A. I also have Advanced Highers in English and French, also both at grade A.

I am very passionate about my subjects and endeavour to make lessons engaging and interesting. I believe in lessons which are well planned, structured lessons and individually tailored to each pupil’s ability and needs. For exam based tutoring, I emphasise the importance of exploring past papers in detail. We use them to practice and fine tune the techniques that the examiners are looking for. In my experience, this makes all the difference when it comes to the end result!
