About Hannah

Hi, I’m Hannah! I’m currently studying Law at the University of Edinburgh, having graduated from the International Baccalaureate with a 41 overall, including 776 at Higher Level and 7s in both English Literature and Economics.

I’ve always loved subjects that involve analysing ideas and looking at things from different perspectives, which is a big part of what drew me to both English Literature and Economics (and eventually to Law.)

I’m naturally friendly and easy-going, and I want my lessons to feel relaxed rather than intimidating. I remember what it’s like to be a student and have a subject explained in a way that just doesn’t click, so I try to explain things in different ways until we find what works for you. I’m also a big believer that asking questions is a good thing — there’s no such thing as a stupid question in my lessons!

Outside of university, I’ve been involved in debating, Model United Nations and leadership activities which have given me lots of experience communicating ideas and working with different people.

Whether you're looking to improve your grades, prepare for exams, strengthen your essay writing or simply become more confident in a subject, I’ll tailor lessons around you and your goals. My aim is for you to leave every lesson thinking, “Okay, I actually get this now.”

About the lesson

My approach to tutoring is heavily personalised, and it is focused on helping students genuinely understand the subject matter rather than memorising it. I like to adapt each lesson to each individual student, whether they need help building confidence with the basics, developing essay-writing skills, working through difficult areas, or preparing for exams.

Lessons are typically 50 minutes to 1 hour, although I am happy to run longer sessions where needed, particularly when preparing for exams or working through more challenging material.

I have experience studying both English Literature and Economics at IB Higher Level (achieving a 7 for both), and I am currently studying Law at the University of Edinburgh. I am particularly comfortable tutoring students working towards GCSE, IGCSE and IB, and I am happy to work with students of different ages and abilities.

My aim is for students to leave each lesson feeling that they understand something they previously found difficult and know how to approach it independently.
