About Laura
Whilst I chose a career in public service after my degree, I thoroughly enjoyed the academic study of law, which is why I pursued a Masters in Law from the University of Exeter.
Following university, I built a career as a Project Manager in the Civil Service and later the wider Public Sector. The critical thinking, advanced comprehension, and robust communication skills required to manage major government policies and programmes are the exact tools I use to help my students excel in their legal studies.
At work, my main satisfaction comes from supporting and developing my team members. I bring this same patient and encouraging approach to tutoring. Every student has a unique learning style, and I believe we all hold an innate curiosity; it simply needs the right environment to thrive.

My core teaching modules include:
- The English Legal System
- Criminal Law
- Tort Law
- International Human Rights Law
About the Lesson:
I always prefer to begin with the "why" before moving on to the "how" with my students, ensuring a foundational understanding of legal principles rather than mere memorization. I am keen to work with my students, adapting to their learning style and helping them set their own goals.
Our lessons will focus on:
- Goal Setting: We can discuss whether you have a personal goal or target grades to reach.
- Essay Structure: Creating comprehensive, persuasive legal arguments backed with evidence.
- Writing & Problem-Questions: Understanding the IRAC method in practice and analysing case studies.
- Exam Preparation: Building confidence, time-management skills, and reviewing past-papers.
Lessons will typically last 55-60 minutes and I recommend at least one lesson a week.
I offer an initial 30-minute lesson for free.
