I am a gentle guide. I believe that's how all teachers are supposed to be. The best method I've found is to ask series of structured questions that help students realize their way of thinking, make observations related to the problem they are solving, and reach to the most reasonable answers.
In design there is no right or wrong. However there are certain universal truths.
We first study the most essential universal truths (concepts) and build a logical case on rational and scientific thinking, then we understand how human emotions play a role in design, then work towards gathering as much data as we can on that particular problem, then we solve it.
