About Stéphanie

Bonjour et hello, soyez les bienvenus !

My name is Stéphanie, I am a French language tutor, translator and content writer with years of experience teaching adults and children across countries. I specialise in 1-to-1 lessons and sometimes work in small groups.

Before becoming a linguist, I worked in a number of professional areas in the UK, in Ireland as well as in some francophone places. This includes the travel industry, exports, University administration, teaching and translation, dance education and childcare.

I always enjoy meeting new students and do customise the course so that it serves their specific needs, may they be studying for exams or ahead of relocating abroad, preparing for their holiday, or just to brush up on their French. Some students have some exams or professional targets while others just want to learn a new language for fun.

My main academic studies: marketing degree [France], BA in Foreign Literature and Civilisations (English Studies) [France], MA in Translation Studies [UK], Diplôme de compétences en langues from the French rectorate [France].

About the lesson

Bonjour, Welcome to your French class! Bienvenue à votre cours de français. The French classes are held via webcam to suit your specific learning goals and your most suitable schedule.

Whether you are an absolute beginner or already fluent, this class will help you acquire some fluency soon and building up you will be in a good stance preparing for your exams or your upcoming travels, going at your pace. Lessons are generally an hour-long and the first session is a 30 minute-trial class during which we will get to know each other and discuss your learning plan in more detail.

We will study at your pace and work in a relaxed atmosphere. Through a conversational approach, your French lessons will guide you towards your learning goals. We will work on any written and oral aspects of the language as necessary and if you wish to work from a textbook, we will explain and practise grammar, conjugation and writing skills.

If you are taking the A level or GSCE exam this year, now is a good time to start your French lessons and make a start on the exam preps.

This will also be the opportunity for you to experience your one-on-one French class via the online classroom. All you need for a start is a stable internet connection.

Please note that you may bring one participant with you and share the cost of the lesson between the two of you if you would like to arrange for this.
