About Brian
I’m a Brooklyn-based graphic designer, creative strategist, and educator with 20+ years of professional experience spanning branding, print, digital design, web, presentations, and integrated campaigns. I’ve worked with small businesses, agencies, nonprofits, and global brands, but today I’m especially focused on sustainable and responsible design.
I believe designers have the power to shape more than aesthetics. The decisions we make can influence materials, behavior, accessibility, waste, and environmental impact. As an instructor, I bring real-world experience into every lesson while helping students develop their own creative voice, strengthen their technical skills, and become more thoughtful about what they design, how they design it, and the impact it leaves behind.

With 20+ years of professional experience, I teach more than Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, and web design. I teach students how to think like designers, with sustainability embedded into the creative process.
A core principle of my approach is the 80% Rule: roughly 80% of a product’s environmental impact is determined during the design stage. That means designers have tremendous influence over materials, production, waste, longevity, digital efficiency, and what ultimately happens to what we create.
My lessons combine strong design fundamentals, real-world creative practices, and sustainable thinking. The goal is to develop designers who don’t just make things look good, but understand the consequences of their creative decisions and know how to design better ones.
