About Ben
I’m Ben, and I enjoy helping guitar students connect the different pieces of their playing. Many people know several chords, riffs, or scales but are unsure how everything fits together. I like turning those separate skills into something practical and musical.
I keep explanations straightforward and adjust the lesson depending on how you learn best. If something does not make sense the first way I explain it, we will approach it differently until it becomes clear.
My goal is to help you become more confident with the guitar while developing your own taste and musical direction. You should feel that each lesson brings you closer to the kind of playing you actually want to do.

Guitar lessons will be shaped around the type of player you want to become. You may want to play complete songs, accompany yourself while singing, improve your lead guitar skills, understand chords better, or simply feel more comfortable moving around the instrument.
We will work on the fundamentals that make guitar playing smoother, including chord changes, strumming, picking, rhythm, finger placement, muting unwanted strings, and coordinating both hands. These skills will be practiced through music rather than endless disconnected exercises.
As you progress, we can explore scales, improvisation, fretboard knowledge, ear training, fingerstyle, and the musical ideas behind the songs you play. The aim is to help you understand the guitar rather than simply memorize shapes.
You will also learn how to practice difficult sections more effectively. Instead of starting a song from the beginning every time, we will identify problem areas and work on them in a focused way until the entire piece feels more natural.
