About Kyra

Hi! I’m a passionate guitar tutor with 12 years of experience helping young beginners and early childhood learners discover the joy of music. With a **Bachelor of Contemporary Music (Guitar Major)**, I bring not only expertise but also a warm and playful approach to every lesson. I believe that the early stages of learning guitar should be filled with curiosity, laughter, and discovery—not pressure. My lessons are designed to feel like an adventure, using **games, stories, and rhythm activities** to make music come alive. I focus on simple, engaging exercises that help little hands grow stronger and more confident on the strings. Patience is at the heart of my teaching, ensuring every child feels supported as they explore new sounds at their own pace. I love seeing those “aha!” moments when a student plays their first chord or recognises a familiar tune they can strum themselves. Every success—no matter how small—is celebrated, and every challenge is met with encouragement. Along the way, I guide students to build strong **foundational skills**, setting them up for a lifetime of musical growth and confidence. About the lesson

My teaching approach to guitar is built on helping students connect deeply with music while exploring their own creativity. I teach everything from the basics of chords and strumming to advanced jazz voicings, looping techniques, and experimental sounds. Lessons are designed to fit each student’s level and goals, whether you are just starting out or ready to push the boundaries of your playing. I guide students through classical, acoustic, electric, and bass guitar, while also introducing concepts like sound design, ambient textures, and creating unique tones. I believe learning guitar should be more than memorising songs—it’s about finding your voice on the instrument. That’s why I incorporate improvisation, ear training, and even live looping to help students express themselves freely. For those drawn to jazz, fusion, or unconventional styles, I create exercises that challenge their technique while keeping the joy of discovery alive. Students also explore modern tools and effects, learning how pedals, layering, and textures can turn a simple riff into a rich musical landscape. I encourage curiosity and experimentation so they can develop confidence in both traditional and innovative approaches. Over time, I’ve seen students transform from hesitant beginners to fearless players, ready to create, perform, and explore. My goal is to make every lesson inspiring, practical, and personal—so that every student not only plays guitar but truly lives it.
