【From the Classroom in Japan to the Harbor of Sydney】 Hi! I’m Takuma. I spent 4 years teaching in a Japanese Junior High School, where I discovered my true passion: helping people grow and gain confidence. Today, you can find me enjoying the incredible views while working at the Opera Bar or exploring the beautiful streets of Sydney. I moved here to challenge myself in a new culture, just like you are doing with Japanese!

That’s why I’m not just your teacher; I’m your biggest supporter! I bring my professional teaching licenses (Primary and Secondary) to the table, but I also bring a lot of patience, laughter, and real-life stories from Japan.

【A Logical Mind with a Big Heart】 My background is actually in Science education, which means I love clear, logical explanations. I won’t just tell you "that’s just how it is"—I’ll show you the "why" in a way that makes you go, "Oh, now I get it!" I love seeing that spark of joy in my students' eyes. Hi! I’m Takuma, a Sydney-based Japanese tutor dedicated to making your learning journey fun and effective!

【My Approach: Professional, Logical, and Full of Joy!】 I am a native Japanese speaker and a fully licensed teacher with 4 years of professional teaching experience in Japan. My teaching philosophy is built on two pillars: Logical Clarity and Joyful Discovery. With my background in Science education, I specialize in breaking down complex grammar into simple, logical steps that actually make sense!

【Who are my lessons for?】

Kids & Primary: Fun, interactive lessons that feel like playtime but build a solid foundation.

HSC & High School: Strategic support to boost your confidence and academic grades.

Adults & JLPT: Logical breakdowns of grammar for those who want to understand the "why" of Japanese.

【Lesson Structure & Flexibility】 While a standard session is 60 minutes, I am very flexible to your needs. I can offer 45-minute sessions for children or 90-minute intensive sessions.

A typical 60-minute flow looks like this:

Warm-up & Review (10 mins): A friendly chat to get your brain in "Japanese mode."

New Concepts (20 mins): Clear, logical introduction of new grammar or vocabulary.

Interactive Practice (20 mins): The fun part! Using what you've learned through role-play or games.

Feedback & Goals (10 mins): Celebrating your progress and setting exciting targets.

【Language & Communication】 I am currently based in Sydney and comfortable communicating in English. While I prefer to use Japanese in class to help you improve faster, I am always happy to provide clear explanations in English whenever you need support. Let’s learn together with confidence!
