About Ashima

About the lesson

This class offers an in-depth introduction to phonetics, the scientific study of the sounds of human speech. Students explore how speech sounds are produced, transmitted, and perceived, with a focus on articulatory phonetics (how speech sounds are formed using the vocal tract), acoustic phonetics (the physical properties of speech sounds), and auditory phonetics (how the ear and brain process sounds). Through hands-on activities, transcription practice using the acoustic analysis, students develop the skills to analyze and describe speech sounds in various languages.
