About Ryo

I'm Ryo from Japan and currently living in Sydney, where I’m studying public health at university. In my free time, I love traveling, watching movies, and anime. Before coming to Australia, I worked as a company employee in Japan. I also worked part-time as a tutor during university, and I found teaching others to be a truly rewarding and enjoyable experience. Now that I have more flexibility as a student, I’d love to reconnect with that joy by supporting Japanese learners through fun and meaningful lessons.

About the lesson

My lessons are relaxed, friendly, and tailored to each student’s level and goals. I don’t have formal tutoring qualifications yet, but I’ve supported children as a tutor in Japan and enjoy helping others learn. A typical lesson is 50–60 minutes, and we can focus on conversation, grammar, pronunciation, or casual practice. I welcome learners of all ages and levels—whether you’re a complete beginner, want to review basics, or just want to practice speaking in a natural way.

Deadly! Ryo's firs lesson showed how astute she is as a teacher. She created a plan for lessons and worked through the early plan dynamically, changing according to the direction of my learning needs. All communication was very proactive and positive and am looking forward to further study over the next months.

Sean was a great student to work with. His pronunciation was very good, and he asked thoughtful questions throughout the lesson, which made the learning process very engaging. I’m looking forward to meeting Kate and continuing the lessons as they prepare for their trip to Japan.
