About Mohamed

My name is Mohamed Soliman, and I studied Software Engineering in AUT where I enjoyed programming and I found that the way programming is being taught is not the best way; therefore, I am trying to make people interested in programming to have more enjoyable time learning and acing it!`
I have been programming for more than 9 years and have gained experience in multiple programming languages; I have also been teaching programming for 7 years and have found the best ways and tricks to be able to deliver the lesson in the most practical way possible to ensure that the lesson is being delivered in an interactive and fun way :)
Make sure to book a class with me (first lesson is always free!).

I believe that programming is for everyone, and it is really really really fun if it is being taught in the right way!
Programming can look boring because of the people teaching material in a very theoretical way and that is wrong!! Programming must be taught in the most practical way possible and that is my teaching theory, I guarantee you will have lots of fun learning programming!

The length of a lesson can vary with an approximate time of an hour which will consist of various practical lessons that will make you comfortable programming!

I have been programming for more than 9 years in various programming languages and I guarantee that the way I teach you will be so practical with no theory whatsoever (we all hate theory.

Any one with any level in programming and any age is welcome to come and learn! programming has no restrictions at all!

  • Can you tell us about your first experience using a computer?

I have been using computers since I was 10 (12 years ago), and you could say that it was love at first sight! I knew since then that my future has and will be related to computers somehow, and wow! I am a software engineer now!
  • What is the technological evolution that has marked you most and what will be, in your eyes, a turning point in this field?

I believe that computer programming is definitely a skill that is so needed nowadays as most businesses are in need of it in a way or another. In my opinion, I believe that the rise of Virtual Reality is going to be a turning point in this field and maybe very very soon we will not need phones or computers and everything will be in the virtual world!
  • Explain your expertise, your interest in it and, more broadly, its importance in the computer world.

I have been interested in programming since I was 15, making small games and mobile applications, and then my interest grew much more when I started studying programming in my university where I learnt the fundamentals of programming and worked on bigger projects. I had a paper related to virtual reality where we had to create a small horror game where people use a VR camera to play it and we definitely made a lot of people scared from the game!!
  • Do so-called 'visionaries', such as Bill Gates, Steve Jobs and Mark Zuckerberg inspire you or do you have other role models?

Of course! I have always read the amazing stories of these people that changed their life by not just following the crowd and their stories are so inspiring as it shows that anyone, without even the need to go university, would be able to easily learn and become a great programmer!
  • Provide a valuable anecdote related to your subject or your days at school.

My final project in the university was to create a health mobile application for the physiotherapy department in AUT. The application needed to measure the heart rate, HRV, ECG, etc. of the users of the application while doing certain exercises and share it with their health practitioners as that will help them to monitor their health. Honestly, knowing that this application is still being used till now in the university and helping a lot of people living a better life is so rewarding!
  • What would you say to an uncomfortable person in front of a screen who says that "IT is too complicated"?

If you say that, then you have definitely learnt about programming/IT in a very wrong way. Programming and IT is not complicated at all; however, it needs to be practical as programming can never ever be taught theoretically as it will get so complicated, and to be honest that is my philosophy, to teach programming in the most practical way possible and that for sure will not make programming/IT complicated at all!
  • What are your other passions, related or non-related to computers?

I always had a passion for magic tricks, learnt a few tricks and I always do it to my friends, family, and even sometimes to strangers, it is really amazing and I always have fun doing them!
I also like to read about psychology as the behaviour of humans always fascinates me so much; I always said to myself that if I didn't do anything related to computers, I would have studied psychology!
  • What makes you a Superprof in IT?

I believe that programming is for everyone, and it is really really really fun if it is being taught in the right way! Programming can look boring because of the people teaching material in a very theoretical way and that is wrong!! Programming must be taught in the most practical way possible and that is my teaching theory, I guarantee you will have lots of fun learning programming! and that is why I joined Superprof, to change the way programming is being taught!
