About Jude

I am a professional Data Scientist working in financial market operations at the Bank of England. Before moving into data science, I trained and worked as a software developer, giving me experience in both programming and analytical problem-solving.

I hold an MSc in Data Science from Northwestern University and a BCS Level 4 qualification in Software Development.

I regularly use Python for data manipulation, analysis, modelling and process improvement. This means I can teach not only Python syntax, but also how Python is used to solve genuine professional problems.

My teaching approach is friendly and patient. I remember what it feels like to encounter programming concepts for the first time, so I avoid unexplained jargon and do not assume that you already know the basics.

I use analogies, diagrams and small working examples before progressing towards larger projects. My aim is to make Python feel logical and manageable, even if you have previously found coding intimidating.

About the lesson

These one-to-one Python lessons are suitable for complete beginners, university students and professionals who want to use Python confidently for data analysis, automation or machine learning.

You do not need previous programming experience. I will explain each concept clearly, demonstrate it visually where possible, and give you opportunities to apply it during the lesson.

Topics can include:

Variables, strings and numbers
Lists, dictionaries, tuples and sets
Conditions and loops
Functions and reusable code
Reading and writing files
Error handling and debugging
Object-oriented programming
NumPy and numerical computing
pandas DataFrames
Data cleaning and transformation

Building portfolio projects

Lessons are practical and interactive. Instead of watching me type for an hour, you will write code, predict what it will do, identify errors and learn how to solve problems independently.

I can also help you understand existing code, organise a project, improve your programming logic or prepare for technical interviews.

The objective is to help you become someone who can approach an unfamiliar Python problem calmly, break it into smaller parts and build a reliable solution.
