About April

I’m an experienced Korean teacher currently living in Vancouver, Canada, with approximately 10 years of experience teaching Korean to international learners. Most of my Korean teaching experience has been in Canada, and I have also taught Korean in Hong Kong and Taiwan. I have taught in a variety of settings, including schools, language programs, group classes, small groups, and 1:1 lessons

About the lesson

Every student has different goals, learning styles, and backgrounds, so I don't believe everyone should follow exactly the same lesson.

I personalize my lessons based on your current level, goals, interests, and areas you want to improve.

Depending on your needs, our lessons may include:

• Speaking and conversation practice
• Listening activities
• Vocabulary building
• Grammar in context
• Pronunciation practice
• Role-play and real-life situations
• Korean cultural explanations
• Review and homework

I also create and adapt customized learning materials, including presentation slides, listening activities, vocabulary exercises, conversation practice, and review materials.

Complete beginners are welcome! I can guide you step by step through Hangul, pronunciation, basic expressions, and everyday Korean.

For intermediate learners, we can focus on natural conversation, listening comprehension, vocabulary, grammar, fluency, and expressing yourself more naturally.

If you have a specific goal—such as traveling to Korea, communicating with Korean friends or family, preparing for a wedding, or simply becoming more confident speaking Korean—we can build the lessons around that goal.

Your goal becomes the starting point for your lessons.

All lessons are private 1:1 online lessons via Zoom and are 50 minutes long.
