About Maria Fernanda

My name is María Fernanda, a native Spanish speaker and a university student in Linguistics with three years of academic training in the scientific study of language. I offer a strong combination of natural fluency, formal knowledge, and a clear, structured way of explaining Spanish so students can truly understand and use the language with confidence.

I am a responsible, organized, and committed tutor who takes teaching seriously. I prepare each lesson with intention, adapt to each student’s pace and goals, and create a supportive environment where progress is both visible and consistent. My background in linguistics allows me to explain grammar, pronunciation, and sentence structure in a simple and logical way, helping students not only learn what to say, but understand how the language works.

I focus on building confidence, clarity, and real communication skills from the beginning. I am patient, attentive, and approachable, and I make sure students feel comfortable asking questions and practicing without fear of making mistakes. My goal is for every student to feel supported, motivated, and proud of their improvement over time.

About the lesson

My name is María Fernanda, a native Spanish speaker and Linguistics student with three years of academic training in the scientific study of language. My teaching is grounded in Communicative Language Teaching (CLT), a highly effective, research-based methodology that focuses on learning through real communication, active use of the language, and meaningful interaction. I approach each lesson with structure, clarity, and purpose, helping students build confidence while developing strong and lasting language skills.

In my classes, I prioritize helping students feel comfortable using Spanish from the beginning. Rather than only memorizing rules, students actively practice speaking, listening, reading, and writing in context. Thanks to my background in linguistics, I can also explain grammar, pronunciation, and sentence structure in a clear and simple way, helping students understand not only what to say, but why it works that way. I adapt my teaching techniques to each student’s learning style and pace, combining conversation, guided practice, vocabulary building, and structured explanations.

A typical lesson starts with a short warm-up conversation or review of previous material. Then I introduce new content through real-life examples, short dialogues, or practical situations. Grammar is explained in a clear and accessible way, followed by interactive activities that encourage students to use the language actively. We finish with a brief recap to reinforce what was learned and build confidence.

What sets me apart is the combination of being a native speaker and a Linguistics student. I bring both natural fluency and academic knowledge into my lessons, which allows me to anticipate common mistakes, explain concepts in an organized way, and create a supportive learning environment. I focus on building confidence, clear pronunciation, and real communication skills, not just memorization.

My lessons are for middle school students, high school students, university learners, and adults at beginner to intermediate levels. I can help students who are learning Spanish for school, travel, personal interest, or those who already have some background and want to improve their grammar, fluency, and confidence when speaking.
