About Paola Andrea

We are an experienced group of tutors from Bogota, Colombia who specializes in teaching Latin-American Spanish to both adults and children. Due to the current crisis, we can no longer work in-person or at schools, but we can still provide you with safe and convenient 1-on-1 lessons through Skype, Zoom, or Google Hangouts.

Our default lesson plans follow the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages, which measures proficiency levels as A1/A2 (Basic User), B1/B2 (Independent User) C1/C2 (Proficient User). However, we are also able to design a custom lesson plan to fit a student's unique learning situation. For example, if you are planning to travel to Colombia in the future for study or work, we can focus the vocabulary and lessons on a specific college subject or professional industry. Similarly, many of our students work for embassies or other governmental organizations and need to focus mainly on passing a specific professional proficiency exam for Spanish.

Another option is to focus lessons on specific cultural or social interactions such as understanding traditions, learning local slang, speaking for business negotiations, or communicating properly in a romantic relationship.

We recommend one-hour classes with learning comprising 30 minutes of grammar review followed by 30 minutes of conversation practice. Again, that is entirely flexible based on your personal goals. Our standard rate is $22 to book a 1-hour on-demand class at your convenience using our online portal. We have flexible schedules and can work with you to hold classes anytime, including nights and weekends.

We also offer you the opportunity to save more by scheduling a series of classes in advance. A package of 10 classes for $180, or 20 classes for $320. All we ask is that our students please provide at least 24-hour notice when they can’t make a scheduled class for us to be able to make alternative arrangements.
