About Misti
For umpteen years, I've been an active author and line editor, tutoring other authors in the grammar and techniques so they can understand the distinctions between "rules" and "rules of thumb".
I have line edited myriad books, both nonfiction and fiction, and guided the authors I've worked with into improving their understanding and use of English in their writing.

Are you a writer, or do you want to be one? Are you struggling to learn the things your English teacher didn't think to tell you?
Academic English is its own type of English, and so many teachers focus on that instead of what you'll need in the workforce. I aim to help people bridge that gap between what they don't know and what'll help them need less editing in the future.
I focus on answering WHY rules apply or exist, so you'll come to understand both when the rule applies and when you can toss it. I include examples to help comprehension, enough jargon so a student can research further if they want, and active tips on what to watch for and focus on.
