About Annya

I am a native Malayalam speaker who has been teaching Malayalam for the past 5 years to students of various nationalities, geographical locations and ages. Malayalam is best taught by someone who has Malayalam as their mother tongue and I have studied Malayalam for 14 years and scored 98 in Malayalam in 10th grade. Combined with my love for teaching, teaching experience and well structured curriculum, I know all the easiest methods to learn the language.

About the lesson

My teaching method is making you understand every single word and why it is so. I have a perfectly structured curriculum, I have a friendly and effective approach and have taught 120+ students. I converse with the student in Malayalam which helps them improve their vocabulary. I have a unique, tried and tested approach in teaching Malayalam that can be adapted to each student's needs and goals.

Tell us more about your subject. How did you develop an interest in this field?
I am a native speaker but I've always been fascinated by how the language works. I've always tried to figure out why some words are the way they are and now I'm extremely happy that I get to share that knowledge with people.
What or who is the motivation behind you choosing to teach & why?
Teaching Spoken Malayalam was an idea given to me by my first student and I later realised there weren't many who taught the subject let alone the way I do.Seeing my students improve everyday is the best motivation there is.
How does your work help society?
A lot of people find it difficult to converse in the native language of their significant other or their parents.By teaching them to speak Malayalam,I like to believe I'm helping people connect and relate more to their family and/or friends.
If you had to think of a role model for your work, who do you think of & why?
I am yet to find somebody who works in the same niche but I try to be inspired by love and care.
Tell us about your hobbies outside teaching.
I have a plethora of interests including reading,sketching,designing,etc.
Do you have an anecdote to tell us about your student or professional life?
I have a lot of moments in my teaching career that are funny and inspiring but almost all my stories include my students conversing in Malayalam and me being very proud of it.
