About Helen
I have been writing fantasy for as long as I can remember and romantasy for at least the last 13 years. I also write children's books and have been working as an after-school leader for the last 8 years, working with kids between the ages of 5 and 12. I have taught adult classes as well. I believe that teaching should be fun as well as educational, whether I'm teaching children or adults. When I am not working on my writing, I enjoy watching anime, playing video games, listening to music, and spending time with my cats.

In my lessons, students will learn what makes a fictional work a fantasy, how fantasy is different than science fiction, how to combine fantasy and romance to write romantasy, and also how to turn an idea into a fully fledged novel, novella or short story. For those interested in writing children's picture books or other forms of children's literature, students in my class will learn things such as what makes a good children's book, where to find illustrators if self-publishing, and how to determine the right age group for their writing. Students will also be encouraged to work on their own writings and share them with me and every student will receive feedback on their work and advice and suggestions on how to move forward.
