About Róisín

Hi! My name is Róisín and I am a 19-year-old gap year student from Dublin, having achieved 7H1s in my Leaving Cert in 2025.
I am looking forward to starting my medical degree in September 2026—whether that is in the UK or (hopefully!) here in Ireland.

I am very enthusiastic about the Irish language, helping organize and taking part in various Irish language events during my time in secondary school. I went to the Gaeltacht in Conamara every summer from the ages of 15 to 17, which forever shaped my appreciation and love for our native language :)
I won their debate competition in my last two summers, the preparation for which particularly helped my confidence in Irish.

I really enjoy helping students improve their Irish and gain confidence, particularly with the oral exam, which can make a significant difference to a student’s final Leaving Cert grade.

About the lesson

My lessons are focused on helping Leaving Cert students improve their Irish in a structured and exam-focused way, with particular attention given to the areas that carry the most marks.

I offer support with:
• Irish oral preparation, including conversation practice, common topics, pronunciation and building confidence speaking Irish
• Sraith pictiúr preparation and exam technique
• Essay writing and written expression
• Listening comprehension strategies
• Understanding how marks are awarded in the Leaving Cert Irish exam
• Improving fluency, vocabulary and accuracy

As I completed the Leaving Cert in 2025 and achieved a H1 in Higher Level Irish with 98.25% in the oral, I am very familiar with the current course and what examiners are looking for. I aim to help students develop clear strategies that will maximize their results.

Lessons are tailored to each student depending on their current level and goals, whether they are aiming to improve their grade, push for the H1, prepare for the oral exam, or strengthen specific parts of the course.

I offer lessons:
• For Leaving Cert Higher Level students
• In person (Dublin, Celbridge and Maynooth areas) or online
