About Morwenna

I'm a primary school teacher from Ireland who has just returned from teaching English in Japan for 4 years. I've been learning Japanese since I was 16 after my friend introduced me to anime, and I still remember how difficult it was to find teachers and resources. Even my guidance counselor didn't know you could do Japanese for Leaving Certificate! But I fought for it and enjoyed every step, and now I want to make that journey easier and just as joyful for you too.

About the lesson

I am here to help you ace the Leaving Certificate exam for Japanese. I have studied Japanese for 15 years and I lived in Japan for 4 years. I am a qualified Primary school teacher with a CELT certificate meaning I have a deep knowledge of teaching language acquisition.

I believe in giving you the tools and skills to learn, stepping back and watching you grow. My language learning lessons are usually very visual and I encourage you to relate the learning to your own interests.

These lessons are aimed at Leaving Certificate students but if you are in Junior Cert or TY thinking about Japanese for LC, I can start you off on the right track. If you are thinking about moving forward to do the N5 or to participate on the JET programme or just hoping to visit/live in Japan in the future I can guide you on your language learning journey.

Deadly! It has bee a great experience to start learning Japanese again after 4 year. What I really appreciated was how she tailored the lessons to my pace and interests, while still keeping things structured and goal-oriented. She also shared lots of cultural insights that made the language feel more alive and meaningful.

Caio is a wonderful student who always asks thoughtful questions and is motivated to learn. He underestimates his own ability and could push himself more! He is always flexible and understanding with scheduling and is reliable with payment.
