I would highly recommend Richard as a teacher for drum lessons. He provided a clear set of goals for the short, medium and long term to work towards that are relevant towards what I want to achieve. He has also provided plenty of exercises I can work with that are really time-flexible, whether I have 5 minutes or an hour to practice. Really friendly and positive throughout!

In short, Richard is a superb teacher who I thoroughly recommend to students of any level.

In a bit more detail, he started teaching our son four years ago, when our son was 8. He completely overhauled his technique over a few months in such an organic way that my son didn’t really realise it was happening. He is extremely energetic, inspiring and encouraging. He is equally adept teaching across any number of styles and it has been a genuine pleasure hearing how my son has developed as a drummer over Richard’s tutelage over the years. We can’t thank Richard enough for all he’s done and continues to do.

Rich is super patient and has been my tutor over a couple of years! he keeps the lessons engaging and fun and always has me leaving feeling accomplished! Thoroughly enjoy his teaching style and approach!

As an international student who just spent a year in UK, I initially thought learning drums in the UK might be challenging for me since English isn’t my first language.
However, Richard made my whole experience not only easy but incredibly enjoyable. He was always patient, supportive, and dedicated to helping me learn in the best possible way.

Beyond being friendly and full of positive energy, Richard is an exceptionally talented drummer. I’ve had the chance to see him perform several times, and his performances were absolutely outstanding. His deep knowledge of drums and percussion across jazz, rock, metal and many other styles like afro is truly impressive.
