About Elizabeth
I have always excelled in English, in essay writing and creative writing. I proofread and edited my entire academic life, offering essential revisions to my peers' work. Capable of understanding the author's intent, I can help you communicate clearly and effectively. Indeed, it is tremendously helpful for me to be able to grasp with ease the common confusions (faux amis and structure issues) for Francophones expressing themselves in English. I am a strong ally for you (or your children!). I can assist in completing homework, reviewing writing and developing speaking skills.
I have pursued my love of language and proofreading in my professional capacities and enrolled in a proofreading course in 2020. I am constantly finding mistakes in all the books, blog posts, web content I read, on all the websites, menus (even t-shirts!) I see. I am eager to be an asset to enhancing the quality of all written work. I am driven by the possibility of helping to eradicate the typos and mistakes, big and small, I see all around.

I am keen on tailoring my help to your needs. I will accompany you in the completion of your English homework and revising your written work. My approach is to observe your work and identify a potential misunderstanding. I will explain the possible source of the issue.
For written work, there are key and common English comprehension and expression confusions for Francophones. I am quick to pick up on these and help elucidate them. Once you understand these, your confidence and comfort will soar! There is true power and pride in becoming aware of (and avoiding!) the pervasive English-French faux-amis. I will not feed you the answer or simply correct these. I will explain to you the issue to help build your ease and understanding. I will also help you diversify your vocabulary in an effort to avoid repetition, a pet-peeve of mine.
