About Henri

I am a certified Montessori teacher (ages 6–12) and a French teacher in Canada, EAO. I hold a Master's degree in Teaching French as a Foreign/Second Language from the University of Ottawa, Canada, as well as a Bachelor's degree in English and French.

With over a decade of teaching experience, I have worked in a variety of educational settings in both Cameroon and Canada. Since 2020, I have been teaching French in Canada in both in-person and online environments, supporting learners of diverse ages and proficiency levels.

Before moving to Canada, I served as a French Language Instructor at the University of Buea, Cameroon, from 2013 to 2020. During this time, I taught undergraduate students while also providing French instruction to primary and secondary school students.

In addition, I taught French for three years at Alliance Française du Cameroun–Douala, where I worked with learners across all proficiency levels, from beginner (A1) to advanced (C2). Beyond classroom teaching, I served as a certified French examiner and scorer for internationally recognized French language proficiency exams, including TCF Québec, TCF Canada, TCF Tout Public, TEF Canada, DELF, and DALF.

My academic background, international teaching experience, and expertise in language assessment have equipped me to deliver engaging, learner-centered instruction and help students achieve their academic, professional, and personal language goals.

I also prepare candidates for the government French oral test.

I teach online using Zoom, Teams, etc. or l can teach face-to-face or in group depending on the learner(s).

About the lesson

Every learner is unique. That’s why I design lessons that are fully customized to your goals, your level, your learning style, and your pace. Whether you want to learn French for work, school, immigration, travel, exam preparation, or simply for fun, I’ll create a program tailored to your needs.

From our very first meeting, I’ll assess your level, identify your strengths and areas for improvement, and then develop a clear learning plan with realistic and measinteractive activities to put what you’ve learned into practice;
conversations tailored to your level to develop your speaking fluency;
detailed corrections and personalized advice;
a brief summary of the lesson and, if you’d like, exercises to continue making progress between sessions.

I prioritize a communicative and interactive approach: you’ll speak French from the very first lessons, even if you’re a beginner. My goal is to help you use French in real-life situations—whether in daily life, your studies, or the professional world.

Fred is a cultured student, he loves to discuss in the target language, no matter what the topic, and he is open-minded. It is not difficult to help such a student develop his French communication skills. He has the vocabulary, we mostly have to work on French syntax and pronunciation.
