About Viane

Playing the violin is a veritable passion for me. I started when I was eight years old and immediately fell in love. The first years are the hardest, but it gets easier with the right teacher. I have played in many tzigane, jazz and classical orchestra in the south of France and have been invited as a soloist in China and Washington. (check it out at 28.45 minutes in the video YouTube link) I started teaching my sister's daughter lessons when I was 15, and it was one of the best decisions I have made. Seeing my students progress makes me feel accomplished and happy.

Hi! I'm Viane Favennec, and I'm here to help you elevate your violin skills. Whether you prefer online sessions via Zoom or face-to-face lessons in Stoke-on-Trent, I've got you covered. With over 10 years of hands-on professional and academic experience in music, I am well-equipped to guide you on your musical journey. My personalised music classes cater to students of all levels and ages, regardless of your aspirations and objectives. I am attentive to your goals and boundless with enthusiasm. I always provide creative ideas to ensure my students feel heard, supported, and motivated to excel. Additionally, I routinely share personalised resources and useful links to aid your musical development. Most importantly, I firmly believe that everyone possesses the potential to create music. I'm committed to working closely with you to share my passion for violin and classical music

Deadly! We met up to discuss my specific needs for the lessons and what my goals are with violin. I’m getting back into playing after a long period of not playing at all, so my confidence is quite low. Viane was calm and encouraging, which really helped me. She also reminded me of the importance of having fun playing the violin again, rather than just torturing myself with scales (although I know scales and technique will be important too!). I’m really looking forward to the lessons and to reconnecting with violin again!
