About Phoenix

I am now a undergraduate music student who completed A-level Dance at a B grade and also earns a dance GCSE at a grade 7 (A), i have been choreographing for a little over 5 years now, i have choreographed for many of my friends taking exams and for younger years. I was also a dancer in a pantomime roughly 2 years ago in theatre with a professional company. My work experience was at a performing arts school. I personally do not teach grades or theory as I prefer to work with my students to help them improve in the areas they feel they need guidance with and their choice of dances without the restriction of a curriculum that is restrictive and not tailored. I pride myself on helping my students build confidence and passion through a shared love for movement and expression.

I am currently the chair of the KPOP Society at my University running weekly consistent dance cover classes ,which the members of my society seem to really enjoy, in which I have honed my skill for teaching and supporting dancers all the way from never dancing or having 2 left feet to people who have danced for years, competed and dance professionally in the past.

About the lesson

I will be holding my lessons online over either teams, zoom and or Google Meet/ Classroom, it will be completely personalised to you.

My teaching style is very relaxed with no pressure at all, I want my students to feel comfortable to be able to talk to me. I do not teach grades, I like to focus on the passion and enthusiasm within my students who just enjoy dance.

I will work with you on cover dances (kpop mainly) and help you with choreographing original pieces too, i am also happy to work with you on potential exam pieces.

For first lessons, I will use the first 15-20 minutes of the call to get to know you and your interests and what you would like to achieve and or any ideas you have. The rest of the time will be me slowly taking you through what was agreed upon for the lesson followed by you showing me how amazing you are at the end so we can celebrate your progress.

They are patient and understanding, they are also very capable of explaining choreography and teaching it. In addition they are good providing help and encouragement when necessary.
