About Lola
Hi! I'm Lola, and I currently take English Literature as an A-Level at one of the best colleges in the North of England. English is a subject I've totally loved for a long time, but you'll find that there's a profound difference between merely liking something, and actually being good at it. If I never bothered to learn proper exam technique, then I would've settled for an average grade. Because I took learning beyond the classroom, I managed to secure two top band grades: A grade 9 in English Language, and a grade 8 in English Literature. As your tutor, I will exchange with you the tips, tricks and methods that allowed me to be EXCELLENT, not average.

Hi! Using these sessions, I will be taking the opportunity to show you the methods that I was taught in order to secure top band grades in GCSEs. This involves utilising proper exam technique (AQA), delving into source materials provided by the exam board, such as Macbeth, A Christmas Carol, Unseen Poetry and the War & Conflict Anthology. This will give my tutees the confidence they need to apply their knowledge and techniques fearlessly during exams, guaranteeing those top grades. I received a grade 9 in English Language, and a grade 8 in English Literature, so I'm definitely qualified to tell my tutees how I got there, and they definitely will if they choose me. The length of a lesson from me would usually range from 1-2 hours. My lessons are targeted towards Year 10s-11s revising towards their GCSEs.
