About Kera
As a K–12 educator and honors scholar with a background in Philosophy, Sociology, and Science Technology and Society (STS), my focus is on helping students learn how to think rather than what to think. I have experience working across public, private, and Montessori schools. I provide structured, compassionate mentorship tailored to each learner's unique needs. For elementary students, I adapt this approach through guided inquiry, story analysis, and engaging skill-building that sparks curiosity early on. By grounding every session in a classical liberal arts approach, I guide students to connect reading, writing, history, and social concepts to the world around them, turning abstract subjects into engaging, culturally relevant knowledge.
When you work with me, you can expect a reliable, collaborative environment built on clear communication and real academic growth. My 60-minute sessions follow an intentional, goal-oriented flow: we begin by reviewing foundational goals, dive into guided exploration, and wrap up with the student synthesizing what they learned in their own words. Whether you are aiming to build foundational literacy in early grades, master persuasive essay writing, or cultivate lifelong critical reasoning skills, I offer a supportive space where students build true intellectual autonomy, curiosity, and lasting confidence.

Sample 60-Minute Session Outline:
10 Minutes — Check-In & Foundation: Clarify goals for the lesson, answer student questions, and review last week's materials.
20 Minutes — Guided Lesson & Content Review: Present a prepared lesson on the subject and go over the assigned reading material together.
20 Minutes — Socratic Analysis & Breakdown: Engage in a collective breakdown of what was covered—dissecting key arguments, what they mean, and why they matter.
10 Minutes — Synthesis & Student Reflection: The student reiterates what was covered in their own words to ensure deep retention and mastery.
