About Dan
Introduction: Are you facing challenges, feeling stuck, or striving for personal growth? I've been there, and I'm here to help you to overcome obstacles and achieve your goals, no matter how daunting they may seem. My Journey: In 2014, I embarked on a life-changing journey. Fresh out of high school, I moved to England, a foreign land where English was a mystery to me. With no family to lean on, I embraced this challenge as an opportunity for growth rather than an excuse for potential failure. For the first few years, I worked tirelessly in the hospitality industry. But that was just the beginning. I decided to push myself even further and enrolled in a Psychology course at Goldsmiths University of London. My thirst for knowledge didn't stop there; I went on to complete an MSc in Psychology of affective disorders at King's College London. My Philosophy: Through my life experiences, I've learned invaluable lessons about resilience and not giving up, even when the odds seem insurmountable. Yes, there were tough moments and mistakes along the way, but these are an integral part of our personal growth journey and should be embraced as opportunities for learning and development. While I may not consider myself a traditional "life coach," I would love to have the opportunity to be part of your pursuit of your full potential. What I offer is my time and my dedication to helping you discover if we're a match and if I can assist you in overcoming your challenges. Coaching Approach: My coaching approach centres around collaboration and goal setting. Together, we'll create an "Objectives Map" to outline where you want to be at the end of our journey. Once we've identified your objectives, we'll explore their interconnections. Breaking down each objective individually is key to understanding where you are now and what might be holding you back, whether it's maladaptive behaviours or unhelpful habits. We'll work together to address these obstacles, finding strategies to eliminate maladaptive behaviours and habits, allowing you to begin your transformation.

Hi there! My name is Daniele, I am Italian but I moved to the UK in 2014. I completed a BSc and an MSc in Psychology achieving respectively a 1st Class Honours and a Distinction. I believe that everybody has the potential of being successful. What makes a person successful is attitude and positive thinking despite adversity. However, sometimes we feel alone, and although we have a great deal of strength inside us, we are reluctant or unable to uncover this. I think that having a tutor can help you with this feeling of loneliness and will allow you to externalise those inner fears that are unconsciously hindering your potential. The biggest challenge will always be with yourself. Take action (if you can) and take control of your life. In the past four years I have been working as a researcher in mental health as well as a tutor for professionals and students who struggle keeping up with life and their assignments. I provide also help with conflict resolution within the work environment and I can help you to change your mindset in order to increase your chances of being successful, if and when is needed.

Daniele is an expert in its craft. He is able to help you with the majority of the content from statistics to psychology to neuroscience. He is able to adapt to your needs and he is always forward about things he may not know. Overall, it has been a very good experience which has enriched me in many ways. Thank you!
I began working with Dan 4 months ago when I started my master’s in Applied Neuroscience at KCL. I was new to the field and felt a bit lost and overwhelmed preparing for my first assignment. I have continued to meet with Dan before each assessment (both essay submissions and exams). Thanks to Dan’s support, I have received a Distinction on every single one.
Beyond his practical support, tailored to each module and assignment, Dan has provided me with invaluable “macro” level guidance on how to succeed in my master’s. From research skills to time management and writing style, Dan always brings “golden nuggets” of wisdom to our sessions which I will carry forward in all my future endeavours.Daniele is an amazing tutor. He is kind, patient (which is essential if you have ADHD or you are a more mature student) and always tries to get the best out of you. He has proofread many of my assignments and has always provided useful feedback that allowed me to get better and better. He has also helped me prepare for my statistics exams. His aim is to allow you to be more and more independent so that you won’t need a tutor (or his help) anymore in the future. Highly recommended.
I completed the Affective Disorders MSc with Daniele Porricelli. We both passed with Distinction. :) I’ve also held one-on-one and study group meetings with him in preparing for assignments. He’s very focused, adept and diligent, and possesses remarkable curiosity as well as clarity of mind. As he has been a great peer to work with, I highly recommend him as a tutor.
Daniele and I studied together for our BSc Psychology degree and I have seen his excellent progress throughout all these years in the field of psychology and neuroscience. Daniele has been extremely helpful to me and to other students during our university years with exam revisions as he was organising weekly tutoring revision sessions, and sharing with his exam notes and hints how to score high on the exams. Daniele used to be one of the strongest students in statistics/research methods, behavioural genetics and he used to tutor me with these courses. Additionally, he has helped me with my BSc dissertation write-up regarding the APA formatted tables/graphs/figures/annotations, and gave a critical feedback for my MSc dissertation as well. Despite his outstanding theoretical knowledge in psychology, he has strong skills in critical thinking/evaluation, statistics, research methods, and interpersonal skills, and all these skills make him an excellent tutor. Daniele’s tutoring approach takes in considerations the individual differences making him quiet adaptable, flexible enabling him to tutor different students with their specific needs.
Daniele is an amazing tutor, he helped me with my university essays and lab reports. His teaching style will allow you to discuss the topic of interest, and will leave you with a deep understanding of the subject. I was able to improve my grades with him, and overall I would recommend him.
I met Daniele two years ago while collaborating on a research project investigating working memory abilities across the lifespan using neuroimaging and brain stimulation techniques.
During his experience at Goldsmiths, Daniele showed exceptional organizational skills and critical thinking well beyond expectations. Besides other things, during our experiments he explained study instructions/aims to our participants, demonstrating strong communicative skills . He is a highly motivated person, who has a great passion for psychology and human relationships. He is extremely committed to his work, curious and ambitious.
I therefore strongly recommend Daniele, as I am confident students will greatly benefit from his professional and human skills.Daniele is an enthusiastic and easy going person who really cares about every aspect of psychology. I have had quite few private lessons in psychology with him, few months ago. Although I had very little background in psychology (I am completing an MSc in another subject), he was able to make the subject easy to understand. He helped me to complete two essays. Overall, I think he is the right person if you want to learn while being helped towards an assignment.
