About Lily

Bio Lily started her journey of music studying classical cello at The Victorian College of the Arts Secondary School. She studied under Josephine Vains and achieved top class award for her studies in musical performance, which led her to perform a solo concert at The Melbourne Recital Centre on classical cello. She has since gone on to finesse her music studies at The University of Melbourne, completing her final year of studies in the Jazz and improvisation course. Lily has experience in performing many different vocal styles and has her own ensemble that has been performing her original music around Melbourne’s iconic venues for the last five years. She has trained under some of the most respected and distinguished teachers of jazz in Australia and has expertise in vocal foundations including breath control, voice projection, diaphragm setup, musical storytelling, tone control, stage anxiety, vibrato, and utilizing head and chest voice. This year she is completing her Suzuki training course for classical cello and has been passionately teaching different styles of music on cello for the last four years.

About the lesson

Lily is enthusiastic in helping others through their own personal musical journeys. After studying and playing cello for almost twenty years and singing for the last ten years, she is equipped in teaching most styles of music, with a specialization in Classical and Jazz. She will nurture you and help you develop your own unique voice, while providing you with the necessary technique to build your foundations in music. She is well equipped in teaching AMEB and Suzuki Cello.
