About Melinda

I graduated from university in 2010, with a BA in Spanish. This is where my love of languages really began. Shortly after graduating, I moved to Germany, where I lived for 8 years. In that time I mastered another language, which was amazing, but interestingly enough it was learning German that really allowed me to understand my own language and how to teach it. Through further education and research, I learned the power and importance that words, syntax, grammar, etc., can have. Helping others learn and discover that too is really why I got into teaching and the science of linguistics. All this being said, in the end, I am a teacher who loves to teach. Helping others learn things that they may have previously thought to be too difficult is my passion.

About the lesson

I always begin each initial lesson with some 'get to know you' conversation and to find out exactly what you hope and need to get out of our time together. From there, I will use any material provided by you, as well as from my own library, to help you understand the topic better and to make sure you leave every lesson more knowledgeable than before. I have been lucky enough in my career to teach everyone from kindergarteners all the way up to CEOs of international companies, this means I feel comfortable teaching all ages and all levels of education.
