About Lucia
I'm a recent college graduate from the University of Colorado Boulder with a degree in Linguistics and a TESOL track. I have extensive experience as a language tutor since I was 14, providing tutoring services to family and friends. As a language learner myself, I was exposed to various teaching methods and techniques growing up that allowed me to have a better approach to teaching based on different learning needs and goals. I strive to build a safe space for you to feel comfortable asking questions and not be afraid to make mistakes. You will always be involved in the design of the plan and its contents, I will not move forward until you're satisfied with our lesson plan because your feelings and input are what's most important to me to assess your learning goals!

As a tutor, I view my students as individuals with unique backgrounds and experiences. With that being said, I understand all students have different learning needs and goals. I want you to see me as a collaborator working with you to meet your learning needs. My lessons are targeted at international students in college, but they can be adjusted to meet beginners, intermediates, and low-intermediate levels. I design individualized plans with authentic content ( news articles, tv shows, movies, video clips, podcasts, etc) to help improve your English skills to that of a native speaker.
