About Priya

I am a native speaker of English but also speak Spanish, Gujarati and Hindi should any students need help in those languages specifically.

I am currently trying to learn French so understand the difficulties of trying to pick up a new language.

Should anyone be interested in picking up beginners Spanish then I can also help with that!

About the lesson

I am a TEFL certified English teacher. I have been lucky to teach English to a range of different ages and backgrounds, having taught in Mexico, the UK and India.

I like to approach language learning using film, tv, music and news so not only can students enjoy their learning, they can continue their learning outside of lessons. This not helps with listening practice but introduces students to new vocabulary, idioms and accents. It can even help with understanding local sense of humour.

I typically like to teach lessons about 30-60 mins long so that students can stay focused and don't feel pressure to concentrate longer than they can.

I generally teach 18+. Happy to focus on conversation, vocabulary or grammar depending on students needs and goals.

Priya is an amazing Spanish teacher. She’s always been so patient with me and always has time for my questions (and I have a few!). I’m so grateful for all the help she has given me. She has a way of breaking things down to make them so simple. She is a kind and caring teacher and I have learned so much from her.

I am thrilled to recommend Priya for the role of an English tutor as she has helped me tremendously with my grammar and spelling which I have always found challenging given my dyslexia.

Priya's passion for the English language is not just evident but also infectious. Her unique ability to simplify complex concepts makes learning both effective and enjoyable. With her patient and understanding approach, she easily adapts to the learning style of her students, ensuring that each session is both productive and engaging.

Whether it's grammar (my weakest flaw), literature, or conversational skills, Priya has a knack for making learning feel like an exciting adventure rather than a tedious task. Her positive energy and supportive nature make her an ideal tutor for anyone looking to improve their English skills.
